Swell Cabin is a free surf trip planner: surf towns and their spots, surf forecasts, places to stay, eat and buy gear, and what's new in each town. By using swellcabin.com you agree to these terms. They are short and in plain words. How we handle your data is on the Privacy page.

Surfing is up to you

Surfing can be dangerous. Forecasts, ratings (Flat to Epic), tide times, wave sizes, water temperatures, spot levels and hazards on Swell Cabin are worked out from weather and wave models, buoys, satellites and published sources. They are estimates and can be wrong or out of date. Always check the conditions yourself on the day, follow lifeguards, flags and local rules, respect the locals, and only paddle out where you know you can handle it. Swell Cabin is a planning aid, not a safety service.

Places, events and other people's content

Places to stay, cafés, food, surf shops, schools and events come from open map data (OpenStreetMap and Overture Maps), Google Maps photos and published pages. We don't run, check or book any of them, and their details, prices and opening times can change. Anything you arrange with them is between you and them. Videos, Instagram posts, social posts and surf cams belong to the people who made them and are shown through their own players and links. Links to other sites take you to services with their own terms.

Your account

You don't need an account to use Swell Cabin. If you sign in with Google, Facebook or an email link, the account is yours: use your own sign-in, and one account per person. It keeps your saved towns so they follow you to every device. You can delete it at any time from Your account → Delete my account (see Deleting your account). We may suspend or delete an account that is used to abuse the site.

Using the site fairly

Please don't try to break, overload or get around the site's limits, scrape it in bulk, or use it to send spam. The public API and the AI assistant (MCP) server are there to be used: keep to a reasonable number of requests and say where the data comes from. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL) and Overture Maps, and photos keep the credit and licence shown with them.

No guarantees

Swell Cabin is free and provided as it is. We work hard to keep it accurate and running, but we can't promise that every piece of information is right, complete or current, or that the site will always be available. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss or harm that comes from using the site or relying on what it shows. Nothing here takes away rights you have by law that can't be signed away.

Changes

The site changes often, and these terms may change with it. When they do, the date at the top changes too. If you keep using Swell Cabin after a change, the new terms apply.
